WIth age comes wisdom; among other things

Taken last weekend- Jess, myself and Julissa (2011) (27yrs)

Not everyone wants to get older.
But
it's the process we all go through.

SO with age comes wisdom, right?
True in most cases but some people aren't prepared for the other things that come with age. Or are told that your genes make up how you will look or act when you are older. That does hold true in a sense, but you also have the power to get the results you want.

Me when I was a baby with my beautiful mother, whom I thank for passing on good genes!
<3
I've always been told that I look much younger than I am. Sometimes, even as young as 16! lol As I get older I am starting to like that compliment more and more. And although I have my genes to thank for that. I did have a big part in it too.

My mother (46) ; 2011- even stll now looks awesome for her age =)

Believe it or not I had no skin care regimen before I went to college!

Me at 19 (before any skincare regimen what so ever)
Usually just wash my face at night and not much else. I hardly wore makeup so I felt, what do I need to use all that skin care junk for?
But they make that stuff for a reason and as we skip over it at the makeup counter and go straight for the makeup, you should really be checking out those creams/serums.

Back in college I used to dorm at the all girl building and it was there that I learned about skincare and even health care as well.
I befriended lots of Asian girls and they seemed to have the secret. They were in their 20's, but looked mere children, some passing for 15 and even I dare say 12! I wanted to know how in the world they were doing it. Or were they just blessed with
"what they're mama gave em?"

I'd see them bringing bags full of creams/masks/serums and face washes to the bathroom at night, when all I had was my toothbrush/toothpaste and mouthwash. I asked, "what's with all the goodies in your bag?" "Oh, it's my skincare regimen."
Skincare regimen? Was this girl serious?! I was thinking, you are too young to be worrying about wrinkles/aging when you are not even 21 yet!

But boy was I wrong!

Since then I began using the creams/face washes/etc., that they happily shared with me. Most of the stuff you could only find in Asia. But hey, they really made a difference on my skin! I could instantly feel and even see the way my skin looked more youthful.

Me at 22; (after a few years of solidly using a skincare regimen)
my face became more youthful and even brighter

I'm not saying you have to start saving your pennies and take a trip to Asia, but if you haven't already started a skin regimen and you are over 18, (yes 18), then you better get moving.

First, go to a local makeup counter that has skincare and schedule and appointment. Check out all the options and choose the best one for you!

Easter Sunday

Started the day with church in the morning with my family; had a lot I needed to thank God for =)*
Ate some yummy barbacoa for breakfast and headed to my parent's friend's home for the Easter celebration.
More delicious food was waiting in the BBQ pit, along with rice crispies treats (my personal fave) and other snacks in the kitchen.

My sister and nephew enjoyed themselves with the Easter egg hunt and all the toys they got in their baskets~

My brother Rob and my nephew Ian
I think the whole family had a blast and I was really happy to finally spend a holiday together with them. The last few years I'd been away living on my own in a totally different state. I missed the get-togethers and enjoying time with them. I'm glad I am in Texas with them at the moment.

My bro's girlfriend Jess and me =)

The backyard was huge and had it's own park which the little ones had fun with.

Jess and I also took advantage of the lovely scenery...
